We recently went on a road trip to Lake Atitlan, brought by the opportunity to drive our friend Steve to the airport , who was going home to Iowa to celebrate his Dad’s birthday. Travel has been restricted due to government restrictions during Covid, these usually tourist attractions are suffering. Just a 2 hour drive from the capital, of Guatemala City, this area is usually packed with visitors, but to our advantage, not now. Accommodations have been discounted, and restaurants were near empty. We spent 5 days on vacation from retirement ………
